How WaterproofingCompare Makes Money

The large majority of listings were compiled from public business data, primarily Google Business Profiles, without any involvement from the business itself. No business paid to appear, and no business was asked for permission, because the underlying information is already public.

Business owners can also submit, claim, or correct their own listing at no cost, and a submitted listing is identical in every respect to a compiled one. There is no paid tier to upgrade to: we do not sell one.

One paid product is currently sold: the $79 Quote Autopsy, a written review of basement waterproofing quotes a homeowner already holds. It is paid for by the homeowner, not by contractors.

The direction of payment matters more than the amount. A site paid by the contractors it lists cannot tell a homeowner that one of those contractors has written a bad quote, and that conflict is the norm in this trade. We take no money from contractors at all: no placement, no lead sales, no referral fees, no affiliate links. If that ever changes, this page changes first, in the same release.

A homeowner who buys an Autopsy is not turned into a lead: their quote and details are not shared with contractors. How the Quote Autopsy works.

• Not verification. WaterproofingCompare does not check licensing, insurance, bonding, certifications, awards, or warranty terms for any listing. Check those yourself with your state licensing board before you hire.
• Not an endorsement. A listing is compiled from public business data. It is not a recommendation and carries no opinion about quality of work.
• Not a better rating.Star ratings and review counts are Google's, shown as-is. They are never edited, weighted, or withheld based on payment.
• Not removal of competitors. Nothing suppresses, downranks, or delists another business, because there is no payment that could.
• Not leads.Quote requests are passed to contractors in the homeowner's area at no charge and are never sold. No traffic, call volume, or number of requests is promised to anyone.

Listings are sorted by Google rating, and that is the entire ordering rule. There is no paid tier, no promoted section, no hidden ranking factor, and no way to buy a position. Every listing on a state page renders identically to every other one.

WaterproofingCompare does not currently use any affiliate or referral links. Links to contractor websites are plain, untagged links that earn us nothing. If that ever changes, this page will say so before the links go live, and affected links will be labelled.

When you submit a quote request, the details go to WaterproofingCompare and may be shared with basement waterproofing contractors in your area, as stated in the consent text on the form. We are paid nothing for this: not per lead, not per call, not per job won. Quote requests are never sold, to a contractor or to a lead broker. A Quote Autopsy is different again, and those documents are never shared with any contractor at all.

We separately record a non-identifying summary of each request (state, service type, and timestamp) to count and audit volume. That record contains no name, email, phone number, or message. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
